What contribution do you see yourself making to the Young Professionals Council and the SAIMM? :
I see myself contributing to YPC and SAIMM by leading advocacy, partnership and fundraising efforts that convert technical talent into employment and research into measurable industry benefit. I aim to pursue recurring funding so YPC can sustain workshops, mentorships and pilot grants. I’ll measure success by signed partnership agreements, funds raised and positive feedback metrics ensuring YPC’s programs are repeatable and fundable beyond my term at the organisation.

BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand
Brief career history:
I work as a Business Development & Applications Engineer at PositioNXT (1 year) and previous to that I worked as a Business Scientist intern for Vuuma Collaborations (2 years) on applied projects that translated sensor data into operational improvements for mining institutions. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand and an Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) certification. My recent work includes a proof-of-concept for distributed temperature sensing for ventilation monitoring at the University of Witwatersrand.
